About Us

Crowned Daemon Studios was founded by four friends with a passion for three things: story-telling, video games, and smooth jazz. While their origins were based in machinima (movies out of video games), they decided to cut out the middleman and make the awesome games themselves. They’re inspired in particular by 80s science fiction, traditional animation, and 1940s media. They think games are destined to become the optimal media for engaging storytelling and want to lead the charge!

Christopher Arnold

Christopher Arnold

Roles: Founder, President/Founder, Lead Designer, Head Writer
Favorite Games: Half Life 2 (PC), Halo 3: ODST (X360), Amazon Trail (PC)
Birthplace: Concord, NH

Before founding Crowned Daemon Studios, Christopher headed the machinima production company Daemon Productions, which produced content for Machinima.com for roughly four years. A member of the ADK 46, a registered scuba diver, and general lover of history, Shakespeare and classic rock, Chris has come to the conclusion that video games are pretty cool and wants to take several years out of his life in order to make a few. He believes that games, more than any other medium, have the power to teach people more about themselves, and that active participation within the game world is what makes this possible. If you ever do end up playing one of his games, he hopes that you have a good time and maybe learn a little somethin' as you do.

Karl Garneau

Karl Garneau

Roles: Programmer, Co-Founder, Co-Writer, Voice Talent
Favorite Games: Metroid Prime (GCN), Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64), Metal Gear Solid 3 (PS2)
Birthplace: Edmonton, AB

From Canada, Karl was never entirely sure what he wanted to do, so he decided to do everything. A jack of all trades, he took on the role of programmer because he felt like he wanted a challenge. In addition to programming, Karl is an expert in writing and voice acting, and his guitar isn't too shabby either. But everyone's an expert these days. He is functionally identical to water, always flowing and changing, and his ultimate dream is to help others create.

Jennifer Hauser

Jennifer Hauser

Roles: Producer, Co-Founder, PR Director, Junior Artist, Voice Talent
Favorite Games: Kings Quest 7 (PC), Fallout 3 (PC), Persona 4 Golden (PS Vita)
Birthplace: Nashua, NH

Jenn’s entry to the video game world was when she was very young, playing old PC games like Kings Quest and Quest for Glory long before touching her first console. She didn’t really know she was going to become involved in the video game scene at first, focusing on other art mediums. She appeared in numerous stage productions, independent movies and even tried pageantry for a while before teaming up with the others from Crowned Daemon Productions to help make awesome games. In addition to acting, writing and gaming, Jenn also enjoys history, classical jazz and old standards, designing miniatures and anything Steampunk.

Nadia Rodriguez

Nadia Rodriguez

Roles: Lead Artist, Co-Founder, Voice Talent
Favorite Games: Bioshock (PC), Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64), Shadow of the Colossus (PS2)
Birthplace: Nashua, NH

Hailing from the distant land of 'New Hampshire', Nadia Rodriguez (the first of her name) holds a renowned reputation for being a mighty practitioner of the art of war...and the art of art. Most have only heard of her through hushed murmurs and awed whispers around dim campfires, but the team at Crowned Daemon Studios alone knows of her true nature and have secured her as their lead artist and art director. Some say that she attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, a mysterious offset of Tufts University. Others say that she honed her art skills on her own, rejecting the harsh demands of 'sleep' and 'social life', displaying her creations proudly to the fortunate residents of the town. The most distressing rumor of all is that she is actually a bear posing as a human, waiting for the opportunity to strike and begin the epic MAN vs BEAR war. While we do not know if this day will ever come, the members of Crowned Daemon Studios are simply glad to have her expertise on hand to give their games a distinct look.

Graham Bergeron

Graham Bergeron

Roles: Lead Programmer
Favorite Games: Borderlands 2 (PS3), Ratchet and Clank Going Commando (PS2), Pokemon Silver (Gameboy Color)
Birthplace: Nashua, NH

Graham has been programming for nearly a decade, and has been making games for nearly as long. He has a degree in Game Design from the New Hampshire Technical Institute. What he loves about video games is the fact that giving players direct control allows them to experience the game as they would like, making it so that almost no two players play the game in the exact same way.

Paul Wiele

Paul Wiele

Roles: Composer
Favorite Games: Civilization IV (Win/Mac), Portal (Win/Mac), Goblin's Quest 3 (DOS).
Biggest Musical Influences: Pink Floyd, the soundtrack from Myst, half-forgotten jazz trumpet lessons
Birthplace: Nashua, NH

Paul is blessed with the superpower of being able to sit for a double-digit number of hours doing anything other than schoolwork. Consequently, he has been a fan since early childhood of strategy and puzzle games, and the mix of epic soundscapes, vaguely-classical music, and incredible silliness that accompanies them in their soundtracks. He started out on trumpet but has a steadily-growing collection of many different instruments (including five ukuleles), most of which he can play pretty well. He will neither confirm nor deny plans to create a golem out of his instruments, but says that such a thing would be "maybe adorable, maybe just creepy. I dunno."
